The ultimate fence-sitter:
President Obama said Sunday that he “can't call” whether the New England Patriots or the New York Giants will be the winner of the Super Bowl.
“I think this is going to be a tough game,” he said on NBC, noting “both teams have their weaknesses.”
Getting pumped for the second half!
Well this is tragic -- certainly not what the ad was calling for.
A great cartoon in the LA Times: here.
Although, I admit, I am not sure why Karl Rove is so widely considered a genius of the right. After all, at the end of eight years of the Bush Administration the country had a Democratic Congress, a Democratic President, a huge national debt, and two largely lost wars. He may have helped the Republicans win in the short term --- but at a great long run cost.
I would argue that the divisive tactics he demonstrates in the debate over this Clint Eastwood advertisement are precisely those that caused the failures of the Bush Administration.
